FineScale Modeler or "FSM," as many of our readers refer to it , is the world's leading magazine devoted to the hobby of scale modeling. Our readers build models of every kind of subject you can imagine, from planes, armored vehicles, ships, and figures to autos, sci-fi spaceships, and real space vehicles. We present stories about those topics - and more - in the pages of the magazine as well as at this site.

The Information Seaway is the home port for Seaways' Ships in Scale magazine, the leading workshop and research magazine for the ship modeler. In both the magazine and on the Web, we explore all levels of modeling experience, all types of ships, all kinds of models, all historical eras and all construction materials.

DANFS Online
The Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships

The Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships, commonly known as DANFS, is the foremost reference regarding US naval vessels. Published in nine volumes (from 1959 to 1991), it gives histories for virtually every US naval vessel. To make DANFS accessible to a larger number of people, we are working to put all DANFS ship histories online through this site. Currently the online collection includes over 7000 ship histories, and more are being added.

Since 1941, when Samuel Eliot Morison and Walter Muir Whitehill were among its founders, The American Neptune has been America's premier maritime journal.
The journal's articles, written with clarity and scholarly substance, are of interest to all who enjoy accounts of ships, the seas, and those who've sailed them - for mercantile gain, defending their nation's interest, or the love of voyaging and exploration.

NMHS began in 1963 as a group of maritime enthusiasts working to save the bark Kaiulani and return her to the US from the Philippines. While that effort proved unsuccessful, the group recognized the broader need for an organization to serve the cause of raising the maritime awareness of the American people.

The Great Lakes Modeling Association

My objective is to simply do what I can for this hobby of ours. Do what I can support the manufactures / companies how make Great Lakes kits and such, along with the individual custom model builder. Most important having a place for modelers to display there work for all to enjoy. This is all put together with the intent of charging no one for advertising or web space. I simply enjoy it knowing I'm doing what I can for this hobby of ours.
