This site documents the construction of the 'San Juan Nepomuceno'. The original ship was a 74-gun Spanish navio ('ship-of-the-line') that fought against Admiral Nelson's fleet at the legendary Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Sailing as the last of the Franco-Spanish line, she was caught between the British Royal Navy ships Dreadnought, Polyphemus and Prince.
